Melanin Bliss is an at-home LED skincare device designed for cosmetic skincare use only. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. The manufacturer's manual also describes the mask as a home-use wearable LED phototherapy device for cosmetic purposes only.
This guide explains how to use the Melanin Bliss LED Mask safely, who should not use it, who should speak with a healthcare provider first, and what to do before your first session.
Before Your First Use
Before using your Melanin Bliss LED Mask:
- Read the full instructions carefully.
- Check that all parts are present and undamaged.
- Make sure the mask, controller, straps, USB cable, and user manual are included.
- Fully charge the device before first use.
- Clean and dry your face.
- Remove makeup, creams, lotions, sunscreen, and other skincare products before treatment.
- Complete a sensitization test before your first facial session.

Use Melanin Bliss:

For best results, use consistently for 8–12 weeks.
Important: even if the device includes automatic timing functions, follow the Melanin Bliss-approved usage rule above. Do not use the mask more often or longer than directed.
Before your first facial treatment, complete a skin test.
- Place the mask or light source over your inner arm.
- Run one full test session.
- Wait at least 6 hours.
- If redness, itching, heat, discomfort, or irritation appear, do not continue use.
- Speak with a healthcare provider or contact customer support if you are unsure.
- Cleanse your face.
- Make sure your skin is clean and dry.
- Remove makeup, creams, lotions, sunscreen, and other skincare products before treatment.
- Place the mask comfortably on your face.
- Choose your light mode.
- Use for up to 12 minutes.
- Remove the mask.
- Apply skincare after treatment as directed.
- Clean the mask after each use.
Serum note: Follow Melanin Bliss serum instructions when provided. If no specific serum instructions are given, follow the device safety guidance and apply skincare after treatment.
Do not use the Melanin Bliss LED Mask if you:
- Are under 18.
- Have epilepsy or a history of light-triggered seizures.
- Have known sensitivity to light or photosensitivity.
- Have lupus, photosensitive eczema, albinism, or another photosensitive disorder.
- Are taking medication or supplements that may increase sensitivity to light.
- Have active skin cancer or are receiving treatment for skin cancer, unless your physician approves use.
- Have open wounds, severe burns, or active skin infections on the treatment area.
- Recently had a deep chemical peel, aggressive laser treatment, or similar cosmetic procedure.
- Are unable to understand or follow safe-use instructions.
Speak with your healthcare provider before using Melanin Bliss if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Have melasma.
- Have sensitive-looking skin.
- Have a medical condition affecting your skin.
- Recently had facial surgery.
- Are under the care of a dermatologist for a significant skin condition.
- Take medication or supplements that may increase light sensitivity.
- Are unsure whether LED therapy is suitable for you.
If your healthcare provider confirms LED therapy is suitable for you, you can return to the Melanin Bliss routine with more confidence.
Stop using the mask immediately if you notice:
Temporary redness or mild headache may occur for some users, but the device should be removed if it feels hot, uncomfortable, or concerning.
For safe use:
- Do not use the mask while charging.
- Do not charge the device with wet hands.
- Use only the included or manufacturer-approved USB charging cable.
- Do not use near water.
- Do not use in the bath, shower, pool, or any place where water can contact the device.
- Do not use if the mask, controller, charging cable, or adapter is damaged.
- Do not bend, crush, repair, or modify the mask.
- Do not look directly at the LEDs.
- Keep the mask away from children and pets.
- Do not share the mask for hygiene reasons.
- Store away from heat, fire, direct sunlight, and moisture.
When charging your device:
- Use the included USB charging cable.
- Do not use the mask while charging.
- Do not touch the charging cable or adapter with wet hands.
- Charge the device when the battery is low.
- Keep the device away from water while charging.
- Stop using the device if the charging cable, controller, or mask appears damaged.
Keep the mask away from strong electromagnetic equipment and portable radio-frequency devices during use.
Avoid using the mask directly next to or stacked with other electronic equipment. If nearby electronic equipment affects performance, stop use and move the mask away from the source of interference.
Melanin Bliss uses LED light therapy.
LED light is different from UV light. It does not tan or burn the skin like UV exposure.
The mask delivers selected light modes for cosmetic skincare support. Always use it only as directed.
After each use:
- Turn the device off.
- Clean the mask after every treatment.
- Use 70–80% ethanol only if cleaning with alcohol.
- Do not spray water directly onto the device.
- Do not use harsh chemicals.
- Let the mask dry fully before storing.
- Store the mask in a cool, dry place.
If the device does not turn on, does not light up, flashes during use, or appears damaged:
- Stop using the device.
- Check that it is charged.
- Check that the cable is connected properly.
- Do not pull the cable excessively.
- Do not attempt to repair the mask yourself.
- Contact customer support.
Store your mask:
- In a cool, dry place.
- Away from water and humidity.
- Away from direct sunlight.
- Away from children and pets.
- Away from flammable materials.
- Away from heavy objects that could bend or damage it.
Melanin Bliss is not an overnight treatment. Use the mask consistently and give your skin time to respond.
For best results:
- Use 3–5 sessions per week
- Use up to 12 minutes per session
- Never exceed 12 minutes per session
- Stay consistent for 8–12 weeks
Some users may notice temporary redness after treatment. If redness, heat, itching, or discomfort does not settle, stop use and speak with a healthcare provider.
